What did you want to become when you were a child?
An archaeologist. I was so passionate about the Greek and Roman myths and legends that I spent hours reading mythology books illustrated and when I happened to go to some city with archaeological excavations, I wanted to visit the ruins immediately to conduct my imaginary research. Together with a friend with whom I often went on holiday we even founded a hypothetical team of archaeological explorations, complete with a hand-drawn logo on a t-shirt.

Maria suggested me to ask you what your vision of the world is, of the books and of what relationship you have with them.
I like to imagine my world as a continuous stream of images and sounds. As a kind of pliable bubble made of the things I have seen and which I will see, that I have listened to and will listen to. I like reading, but also collect and keep the books I loved the most. However, I am neither an avid reader nor an exclusive reader: sometimes I accumulate more books on my bedside table and it may happen that I also read them at the same time. Often one of the two is a sage, the other a novel.
If a book does not convince me or I do not like it, I also let it go. I think I'll always have time to try to reread it if the opportunity arises, some times the books come back.

What were your first experiences in the world of writing?
Actually writing has never been a passion or a vocation for me, I do not particularly love writing, to be honest. Rather, it was the concept of research that pushed me to do things and consequently also trying to write. I started writing because I needed to give shape and systematize what I came across and that stimulated my curiosity. The first book I wrote, the one on No Wave, was born almost by chance, from my degree thesis. My research was liked by a publisher who advised me to reorganize the material and expand the project in order to structure it in the form of a real book.

I've never been good at writing texts or themes, I've never had imagination in composing and I've never loved the margins of the protocol sheets. You write essays, which are among the most difficult text types, what is the path that you take to develop one? Give me five suggestions to be able to write one by the end of the year.
I too did not particularly like school subjects, in fact, I always chose the trace of text analysis. I liked to use my imagination starting from a literary text on which I concentrated, looking for particular aspects, references and original connections that had not yet been learned.
With the music books I wrote, everything started from an idea, from a theme that had struck me or something that I was interested in researching and deepening.
My five suggestions are:
1. Be curious and look around
2. Passionate about a theme, a detail or a nuance
3. Search for all possible and imaginable information on the subject
4. Listen to those who have to tell
5. Take notes

In addition to writing, you are passionate about reading so much that you have a website libri-belli.it on which you sell texts that you collect and collections. Which books have changed your life, do you suggest someone?
"Nadja" by André Breton, "Je me souviens" by Georges Perec, "The Miracles of Val Morel" by Dino Buzzati. I like books that surprise.

You collaborate with La DoubleJ as a Vintage coordinator, what does this work consist of?
I take care of the "Vintage" section of La DoubleJ.com, both from the point of view of the product and the contents. I then search for vintage clothing in archives and private collections for e-commerce and content development and collaboration for the site.

Can you share something about yourself that may surprise or make you smile?
I'm afraid of butterflies, true fear. If I'm in a park and I pass near a butterfly I start to sweat cold.

What's your favorite thing for which you're happy to come home in the evening, after a long day at work?
I must say that silence, at times, is a very beautiful thing to look for.

Cosa saresti voluta diventare quando eri una bambina?
Un'archeologa. Ero così appassionata ai miti e alle leggende greche e romane che passavo ore a leggere libri di mitologia illustrati e, quando mi capitava di andare in qualche città con scavi archeologici, volevo subito visitare le rovine per condurre le mie ricerche immaginarie. Insieme a un’amica con cui andavo spesso in vacanza avevamo perfino fondato un ipotetico team di esplorazioni archeologiche, con tanto di logo disegnato a mano su t-shirt.

Maria mi ha suggerito di chiederti quale sia la tua visione del mondo, dei libri e di che rapporto hai con loro.
Mi piace immaginare il mio mondo come un flusso continuo di immagini e di suoni. Come una sorta di bolla plasmabile fatta delle cose che ho visto e che vedrò, che ho ascoltato e ascolterò. Mi piace leggere, ma anche raccogliere e custodire i libri che ho amato di più. Tuttavia non sono né un'avida lettrice, né una lettrice esclusiva: a volte si accumulano più libri sul mio comodino e può darsi che mi capiti anche di leggerli in contemporanea. Spesso uno dei due è un saggio, l’altro un romanzo.Se un libro non mi convince o non mi appassiona lo lascio anche andare, avrò sempre tempo per provare a rileggerlo se capiterà l'occasione, i libri ritornano.

Quali sono state le tue prime esperienze nel mondo della scrittura?
La scrittura per me non è mai stata una passione o una vocazione, a dire il vero non amo neanche particolarmente scrivere. È sempre stato il concetto di ricerca a spingermi a far cose e di conseguenza anche a provare a scrivere. Ho iniziato a scrivere perché avevo bisogno di dare una forma ai miei pensieri e sentivo la necessità di sistematizzare quello in cui mi imbattevo e che stimolava la mia curiosità. Il primo libro che ho scritto, quello sulla No Wave, è nato quasi per caso dalla mia tesi di laurea. La mia ricerca è piaciuta a un editore che mi ha consigliato di riorganizzare il materiale e ampliare il progetto in modo da strutturarlo nella forma di un libro vero e proprio.

Non sono mai stata brava a scrivere testi o temi, non ho mai avuto fantasia nel comporre e non ho mai amato i margini dei fogli a protocollo. Tu scrivi saggi, che sono tra le tipologie testuali più ardue, qual è il percorso che compi per elaborarne uno? Dammi cinque suggerimenti per riuscire a scriverne uno entro fine anno.
Anch’io non amavo particolarmente i temi di scuola, infatti sceglievo sempre la traccia di analisi del testo. Mi piaceva impiegare la mia fantasia partendo da un testo letterario su cui mi concentravo ricercandone aspetti particolari, rimandi e connessioni originali che non fossero ancora stati colti.
Con i libri di musica che ho scritto tutto è partito da uno spunto, da un tema che mi aveva colpito o da qualcosa che mi interessava ricercare e approfondire.
I miei cinque suggerimenti sono:

1. Sii curiosa e guardati intorno
2. Appassionati a un tema, a un dettaglio o a una sfumatura
3. Cerca tutte le informazioni possibili e immaginabili sull’argomento
4. Ascolta chi ha da raccontare
5. Prendi appunti

Nadja di André Breton, Je me souviens di Georges Perec, I miracoli di Val Morel di Dino Buzzati. Mi piacciono i libri che sorprendono.

Collabori con La DoubleJ come Vintage coordinator, in cosa consiste questo lavoro?
Mi occupo della sezione "Vintage" di La DoubleJ, sia dal punto di vista del prodotto che dei contenuti. Faccio quindi ricerca di abbigliamento vintage in archivi e collezioni private per l’e-commerce e sviluppo contenuti e collaborazioni per il sito.
Puoi condividere qualcosa su te stessa che potrebbe sorprendere o far sorridere?
Ho paura delle farfalle, paura vera. Se sono in un parco e mi passa vicino una farfalla inizio a sudar freddo.

Qual è la cosa preferita per cui sei felice di tornare a casa la sera, dopo una lunga giornata di lavoro?
Devo dire che il silenzio, a volte, è una cosa molto bella da ricercare.
